Das Fahrwerk
Da das Auto einige Zet stand, haben wir natürlich auch alle Fahrwerksteile erneuert. Außerdem wurde die Bremsflüssigkeit gewechselt. Ganz einfach war das mit den Fahrwerksteilen nicht, da nicht nur orginal Seat Ibiza Teile verbaut wurden. Die Spurstangen zum Beispiel stammen von einem VW Golf 1. Bis wir wussten von welchem Auto diese sind, brauchte es so einige Telefonate. Hier noch Mal Danke an alle, die dabei behilflich waren.
Spachteln, schleifen, spachteln, schleifen, ...
Da das Auto zuvor schon einige Rundstrecken Rennen hinter sich hatte (u.a. 24h-Rennen 2008) und das Fahrzeug mindestens 3 Jahre gestanden hatte, fiel einiges an Arbeit an. Erstes Ziel war es: "Die Karre muss laufen!".
Gesagt, getan. Nachdem die Glühkerzen, der Dieselfilter und das Öl erneuert waren, wurde der erste Startversuch unternommen. Und tatsächlich, der 1,9l TDI Motor erwachte zum Leben. Damit war die wichtigste Aufgabe schon erledigt. Nun ging es daran, den Wagen von außen "Schön" zu machen. Er hatte halt hier und dort ein paar kleine Dellen und Kratzer - Kampfspuren. Und hier kommen wir zur Überschrift: Spachteln, schleifen, spachteln, schleifen und so weiter.
Parallel dazu wurde das Fahrwerk samt Bremse komplett ausgebaut. Zum einen ging es darum alles Teile auf ordnungsgemäße Funktion zu prüfen, zum anderen einige Teile von Rost und Dreck zu befreien. Nach und nach wurde dann wieder alles eingebaut.
